This is a print of the original hand cut collage, “PLAY”. "PLAY" only uses images from vintage Playboys, mixed with a few pieces of wheat pasted posters for texture. This piece is a commentary on unwanted glances, feedback, commands and comments towards women. I used business reply mail inserts, mixed with typography and images of the literal male gaze to represent this.
So often, women are expected to act, look, dress or behave a certain way. There is sometimes a fear of what we have to say, or what we might say if we have free thought.
There is no greater gift than freedom of expression. The top right quadrant is just that: a celebration of freedom of expression and joy.
